32 Weeks & Friends Baby Shower!!

So I have the best friends a girl could ask for they threw an awesome baby shower for me and went above and beyond to make me feel special!! Thanks everyone for coming to the shower it made us feel so special!!
I don't know what I would do without these girls (Lindsay, Kylee, & Malena) they did everything for this shower and it was awesome. I just love them so much and don't know where I would be without them!!

All the girls at the shower except my mom and mother in law who were nice enough to take the picture:) The best friends a girl could ask for they all gave me the cutest things for Dakota I can't wait to use everything!!

D is for Dakota I can't wait to hang this up in the baby room

Lots of baby clothes!!! They were all perfect:)

All these pictures are of the decorations from the shower.
The theme is owls and I loved everything they made!

The cutest Diaper cake!

Me at 32 Weeks!
Time is going by pretty fast and I just realized how little time I have left and how much I have left to do before little Dakota arrives! I can hardly wait!

Happy Birthday Mom!!!

I know this is a little late but on Feb. 22, 2011 my mom turned 50!! So we wanted to make sure that she knew that we loved her so my sisters Alicia and Callee helped me make a Birthday cake for her I think it turned out awesome and every time I look at it I can see my mom... Many of you know my mom and her love for Alaska and for the outdoors so this is a little of her... I love my mom more then she will ever know she does everything for us and never makes us feel bad when we call at the worst times needing help... She is the most selfless person I know and I look up to her more then she will ever know. When I think of becoming a mom I just hope and pray that I can be a percentage of what my mom is. She was and is always there for me and I don't know what I would have done without her. I love you mom!!!

32+ weeks, new car etc.....

Well I am 32 weeks and 4 days!! Almost there and I can't believe how time has flown by! We are so excited to meet Dakota we can hardly wait any longer. I know he is growing big and strong because his kicks and punches are sure getting stronger by the day. Sometimes I think he is trying to see how hard he can kick me because it will move my stomach so much and then then next one moves my stomach even more. Daniel loves to cuddle me and have his hand on my stomach and see if he will kick daddy. We get to see him again this friday and hopefully we will get a good picture because he has been a stinker everytime and covers his face each time we go in so I'm hoping to just get one picture of him.
Some updates are....
*So far I have gained 18pounds so I'm hoping to stay at about 25 so we will see how I do that way I hope I can lose the weight alittle faster after he is born.
*I have started getting heart burn everyday and I can't figure out how to get rid of it without using and medicine so I might have to get some soon.
*I still haven't bought maternity clothes but I think I will go invest in the belly bands so I don't have to buy any new pants for just 7 weeks.
* I look like I have a basketball under my shirt and Daniel always tells me to leave the Basketball at home when I am going somewhere. He thinks he is a comedian! But I sure love him!
*We have the baby room painted thanks to the sweetest husband he wanted to do it all so I wouldn't have to smell the fumes so he did it while I was gone last week to surprise me. So now we just have to put everything together. I found the cutest pictures to put on the wall that I can't wait to use...
*I'm closer to finishing the blanket but I wish a magic fairy would do it all for me:) I just can't seem to find time to do it all...
*I had my friends baby shower this weekend and they did such a great job and went above and beyond! I just loved everything I have pictures to follow.. But I have the greatest friends ever so many girls came and supported me and so if your reading this thank you so much you guys all mean so much to me!! I love all my friends so much and would do anything for you guys! I know some weren't able to make it and that is okay we know you would have if you could have... Dakota and I can't wait for you everyone to come meet him when he makes it here:)
* We sold our car and bought a family/dog car haha... We figured we would need a car big enough for the baby and our dog boz so we bought this Trailblazer I love it and I think it will fit our little family perfect! We can't wait to put the car seat in there to see how it looks! Many photos to follow soon!

Almost 30!!!

Well I'm almost 30 weeks and I am getting so dang excited I can hardly stand it. I seem to buy stuff all the time and can't stop its crazy. I love feeling Dakota inside me moving around it is one of the coolest feelings ever. I finally feel pregnant my belly is getting bigger by the day and I know he is growing big and strong I love it... I decided that I would make all the baby crib stuff and it has turned out a little harder then I thought but here is a sample. Its going to be 12 squares and 6 will be these squares as shown below and then the other 6 squares will have baby farm animals on them I'm still working on those but I better hurry... I will do matching window valance, crib skirt, baby bumpers and wall decor. We just got the baby mattress and fitted sheets so it is going to make me work faster so I can see the finished product.

Here is our baby dresser in the baby room and the matching crib. They are my favorite and I love seeing them everytime I pass by the room I just imagine Dakota in the crib sleeping and I get so excited. I know the room is very boring but we are working on painting it and getting all the baby stuff situated it there. I think Daniel is getting more and more excited too. He loves talking to him and loves when he feels him kick. He is trying to determine who Dakota will like the most and I think its so cute.. I love watching him get excited for everything. He buys everything that says something about "daddy" he thinks its not cool that there is so much "mommy" stuff so everytime we see it he has to buy it:)

We also bought our car seat this weekend and it is all I can do to not put it in my car. It is just sitting in the front room waiting patiently to be used. I really don't know what else to get because I'm new at this so if you have any suggestions let me know. I know lots of clothes but I'm trying not to get to carried away. I have a stroller on the way so I'm super excited for that as well.

Other then that we haven't been up to much around here just working and doing our church callings and Daniel is finishing up school for this semester so it is getting exciting for him to see an end but he is doing so well and I am super proud of him.

I hope everyone has a great day and sorry if my blog is to boring I just get so excited about Dakota.

Baby update!

Well sorry about being so bad in December I don't know how many really read it anyway so if your interested in the last posts in december let me know and I'll get them for you. But as for now I will up date you alittle on our Baby.

I am now 25 weeks and 4 days!! I can hardly wait for our little man to arrive. I think that it is going so slow but I really only have 3 months left and then he will be here.

Some facts about me and pregnancy:
- I love being pregnant, I know it comes with weight gain and stretch marks but to feel your child kick inside of you makes it all worth it!
- I have now gained 12 pounds up to today
- I still don't own a maternity shirt or pair of pants and am still in my regular clothes but I am thinking about the switch more and more everyday because the pants are starting to get tighter and the shirts are as well.
- I can see my stomach move when I am being kicked or punched by Dakota and so can Daniel. He thinks it is pretty cool but when he tries to feel him he relaxes and doesn't let Daniel feel him.
- I really love buying baby stuff more then I care to buy anything else! I think anything small is adorable.
- I am attempting to make Dakota's bedding (wish me luck) it is really cute and the theme is Farm Animals. Daniel as always been a country boy at heart and one day when we can we will move to the country and live on a ranch but as of now we are bringing the farm to us. I'll show you the finished product sometime soon I hope.
- We have the baby crib and dresser up and I love looking in his room it gets me so excited to see him.
- I haven't had much cravings the whole time and I have been feeling great!
- I love my Hypnobirthing class! I think everyone should take that class even if you don't choose to have you child natural. I decided that for the rest of the pregnancy I only want to be surrounded by positive people and stories. When you tell people that you are going natural everyone tends to think negative and has the immediate response to share a horror story but I don't care to hear them because I just want to keep a positive mindset and I don't need the scary stories to worry me! So if your reading this I would love to hear happy stories but please at least until I have my baby keep the scary horror stories to yourself:)
- Everyday I realize how truly lucky I am to have Daniel in my life, I think to myself everyday that I love him but then the next day he surprises me and I love him even more then the day before. He is going to be a great dad and I can't wait to watch him with his little boy! Even though I will be outnumbered.
- I love my family! Everyone has been so supportive and I couldn't ask for a better bunch of people to surround Daniel and I.

Time is going fast and I can't wait.... I will post more in the next post and hopefully have pictures for those of you asking.
I guess I should have read this a couple months ago... But now ready or not this is going to be Daniel and I in 14 weeks!!! and if you didn't know I don't care because we are so excited to see Dakota:)

11 step program for those thinking of having kids.

Lesson 1

1. Go to the grocery store.
2. Arrange to have your salary paid directly to their head office.
3. Go home.
4. Pick up the paper.
5. Read it for the last time.

Lesson 2

Before you finally go ahead and have children, find a couple who already are parents and berate them about their...
1. Methods of discipline.
2. Lack of patience.
3. Appallingly low tolerance levels.
4. Allowing their children to run wild.
5. Suggest ways in which they might improve their child's breastfeeding, sleep habits, toilet training, table manners, and overall behavior.
Enjoy it because it will be the last time in your life you will have all the answers.

Lesson 3

A really good way to discover how the nights might feel...
1. Get home from work and immediately begin walking around the living room from 5PM to 10PM carrying a wet bag weighing approximately 8-12 pounds, with a radio turned to static (or some other obnoxious sound) playing loudly. (Eat cold food with one hand for dinner)
2. At 10PM, put the bag gently down, set the alarm for midnight, and go to sleep.
3. Get up at 12 and walk around the living room again, with the bag, until 1AM.
4. Set the alarm for 3AM.
5. As you can't get back to sleep, get up at 2AM and make a drink and watch an infomercial.
6. Go to bed at 2:45AM.
7. Get up at 3AM when the alarm goes off.
8. Sing songs quietly in the dark until 4AM.
9. Get up. Make breakfast. Get ready for work and go to work (work hard and be productive)

Repeat steps 1-9 each night. Keep this up for 3-5 years. Look cheerful and together.

Lesson 4

Can you stand the mess children make? T o find out...
1. Smear peanut butter onto the sofa and jam onto the curtains.
2. Hide a piece of raw chicken behind the stereo and leave it there all summer.
3. Stick your fingers in the flower bed.
4. Then rub them on the clean walls.
5. Take your favorite book, photo album, etc. Wreck it.
6. Spill milk on your new pillows. Cover the stains with crayons. How does that look?

Lesson 5

Dressing small children is not as easy as it seems.
1. Buy an octopus and a small bag made out of loose mesh.
2. Attempt to put the octopus into the bag so that none of the arms hang out.

Time allowed for this - all morning.

Lesson 6

Forget the BMW and buy a mini-van. And don't think that you can leave it out in the driveway spotless and shining. Family cars don't look like that.
1. Buy a chocolate ice cream cone and put it in the glove compartment.
Leave it there.
2. Get a dime. Stick it in the CD player.
3. Take a family size package of chocolate cookies. Mash them into the back seat. Sprinkle cheerios all over the floor, then smash them with your foot.
4. Run a garden rake along both sides of the car.

Lesson 7

Go to the local grocery store. Take with you the closest thing you can find to a pre-school child. (A full-grown goat is an excellent choice). If you intend to have more than one child, then definitely take more than one goat. Buy your week's groceries without letting the goats out of your sight. Pay for everything the goat eats or destroys. Until you can easily accomplish this, do not even contemplate having children.

Lesson 8

1. Hollow out a melon.
2. Make a small hole in the side.
3. Suspend it from the ceiling and swing it from side to side.
4. Now get a bowl of soggy Cheerios and attempt to spoon them into the swaying melon by pretending to be an airplane.
5. Continue until half the Cheerios are gone.
6. Tip half into your lap. The other half, just throw up in the air.

You are now ready to feed a nine- month-old baby.

Lesson 9

Learn the names of every character from Sesame Street , Barney, Disney, the Teletubbies, and Pokemon. Watch nothing else on TV but PBS, the Disney channel or Noggin for at least five years. (I know, you're thinking What's 'Noggin'?) Exactly the point.

Lesson 10

Make a recording of Fran Drescher saying 'mommy' repeatedly. (Important: no more than a four second delay between each 'mommy'; occasional crescendo to the level of a supersonic jet is required). Play this tape in your car everywhere you go for the next four years. You are now ready to take a long trip with a toddler.

Lesson 11

Start talking to an adult of your choice. Have someone else continually tug on your skirt hem, shirt- sleeve, or elbow while playing the 'mommy' tape made from Lesson 10 above. You are now ready to have a conversation with an adult while there is a child in the room.

This is all very tongue in cheek; anyone who is parent will say 'it's all worth it!' Share it with your friends, both those who do and don't have kids. I guarantee they'll get a chuckle out of it. Remember, a sense of humor is one of the most important things you'll need when you become a parent!
