Almost 30!!!

Well I'm almost 30 weeks and I am getting so dang excited I can hardly stand it. I seem to buy stuff all the time and can't stop its crazy. I love feeling Dakota inside me moving around it is one of the coolest feelings ever. I finally feel pregnant my belly is getting bigger by the day and I know he is growing big and strong I love it... I decided that I would make all the baby crib stuff and it has turned out a little harder then I thought but here is a sample. Its going to be 12 squares and 6 will be these squares as shown below and then the other 6 squares will have baby farm animals on them I'm still working on those but I better hurry... I will do matching window valance, crib skirt, baby bumpers and wall decor. We just got the baby mattress and fitted sheets so it is going to make me work faster so I can see the finished product.

Here is our baby dresser in the baby room and the matching crib. They are my favorite and I love seeing them everytime I pass by the room I just imagine Dakota in the crib sleeping and I get so excited. I know the room is very boring but we are working on painting it and getting all the baby stuff situated it there. I think Daniel is getting more and more excited too. He loves talking to him and loves when he feels him kick. He is trying to determine who Dakota will like the most and I think its so cute.. I love watching him get excited for everything. He buys everything that says something about "daddy" he thinks its not cool that there is so much "mommy" stuff so everytime we see it he has to buy it:)

We also bought our car seat this weekend and it is all I can do to not put it in my car. It is just sitting in the front room waiting patiently to be used. I really don't know what else to get because I'm new at this so if you have any suggestions let me know. I know lots of clothes but I'm trying not to get to carried away. I have a stroller on the way so I'm super excited for that as well.

Other then that we haven't been up to much around here just working and doing our church callings and Daniel is finishing up school for this semester so it is getting exciting for him to see an end but he is doing so well and I am super proud of him.

I hope everyone has a great day and sorry if my blog is to boring I just get so excited about Dakota.

  1. Hey Terra! That is so exciting you are getting so close! That's awesome you are making everything for the crib and stuff!!! I bet it will be so cute!

As far as suggestions for what else to get, I would definitely get a swing! Kaydence has seriously taken a nap in hers everyday until today - she is almost 7 months and is almost too big for it so today was the first day I made her take a nap in her crib. She was also able to sleep in it at night when she had a cold twice because she had to sleep sitting up. They are seriously a lifesaver because they rock them to sleep so fast and she takes longer naps in it.

The other thing Kaydence used a ton when she was a newborn up to about 4 months old was a bouncer with hanging toys and a play mat that has the toys hanging above them. Get one that plays music too because it kept her entertained for a good 30 min. at a time! She also still loves her mobile above her crib that moves and plays lullabies and gets her sleep every night. Other than that they dont play with much until they start grabbing things around two to four months but they love mirrors. OH, and I would definitely suggest some sort of rocking chair or glider for his room to rock him, read to him in, etc. I use mine all the time and I almost didn't get one but I spend hours in it rocking her to sleep, reading to her, feeding her, etc. And a boppy pillow is awesome to put underneath your arms when you feed them because it provides a ton of support so your arms don't get tired.

Sorry that's a ton but I had no idea what to get either and there are so many things to choose from so I hope this helps! I'm way excited for you!

  2. i was so hoping for a picture of you at 30 weeks, but i'll have to settle for the cute pics of the crib and bedding! way to be crafty girl!! what kind of stroller/car seat did you get? just curious, i love baby stuff! i drove around with taytum's car seat in my car for about a month before she arrived. i practiced taking it in and out of the car!
i agree with the bouncer! taytum loved hers up to the point of being able to crawl out of it so i had to put it away. she wasn't a fan of her swing, so maybe wait on that to see what kind of personality the little guy has. she was just too active to want to be in her swing very often. i'm hoping i'll get more use out of it some day.

another thing that saved my life was the book baby wise...you won't need it until the baby is about 6 weeks, but it's all about getting the baby on a schedule and the things you need to know! so if you're bored while waiting for baby you could read it! i got a used one on amazon for $7, and i'm not even exaggerating, it saved my sanity!

and a rocking chair is a MUST! a comfy one would be the best, but i had a wooden one with taytum and it worked great for me. that's what i used to feed her in the middle of the night and during the day and get her to sleep for the first month and a half before she'd go to bed on her own. you'll definitely get your use out of one!

one thing i didn't use a whole lot was a baby bathtub. i got it as a gift, but i really didn't use it that much. they make this little bouncer/recliner things that just sit in the tub but still allow the baby to get wet, and we used that way more than we did her bath tub.

and i use my changing table multiple times a day. i'm so glad i had one (but one of my closest friends never had one, and she didn't see the need because she did just fine without one)! they make changing table pads that can be put on the top of your dresser if you weren't planning on getting a changing table. it just makes changing diapers and outfits so much easier!

that's all i can think of right now, i'll let you know if i think of anything else!
